Julia Roberts Joins Earth Biofuels, Inc. as Spokesperson and Advisory Board Member

July 18, 2006

DALLAS, July 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: EBOF) today announced that actress Julia Roberts will become a spokesperson for the company and will chair the company’s newly formed Advisory Board. Ms. Roberts joins fellow Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman and country music legend Willie Nelson in promoting the use of renewable fuels such as Earth Biofuels’ biodiesel and ethanol.

“It’s very important that we expand our use of clean energy and make a long-term commitment to it,” Roberts said. “Biodiesel and ethanol are better for the environment and for the air we breathe.” The Advisory Board will provide guidance to senior management on key issues and will serve to broaden biofuels awareness on a national scale. Earth Biofuels and Ms. Roberts will collaborate on a program to encourage the use of clean-burning biodiesel fuel in the more than 500,000 diesel school buses currently in service across the United States.

“The use of biodiesel is a positive step toward minimizing pollutive emissions and greenhouse gases,” Roberts added. “By focusing on school buses, we can affect the health and wellbeing of the people most susceptible to that pollution — our children — today.”

“We are very pleased, to say the least, that Ms. Roberts has accepted our invitation to become a spokesperson for the company and chair our Advisory Board,” said Earth Biofuels Chairman and CEO, Dennis McLaughlin.

Biodiesel is refined from vegetable oils such as soy, canola, and recycled restaurant grease. Today, B20 is the most common and fastest growing biodiesel blend in the United States. It reduces hydrocarbon emissions by 20 percent and carbon monoxide and particulate emissions by 12 percent. Additionally, biodiesel reduces vehicle sulfur emissions on average by 20 percent, plus biodiesel is nontoxic and biodegradable. Biodiesel is the only alternative fuel certified by the Environmental Protection Agency that fulfills the requirements of Section 211 (B) of the Clean Air Act.

I am part of the Federation of Women in Delaware. We would like to know if there is a place in Delaware to convert our cars to biofuel and if there are stations available to buy the biofuel. We would also like to know what we as a group can do to further this alternative fuel source

What about the possibility of pulling out of Iraq, letting Iran invade and lose resources fighting their own kind,
and then come in and mop up the dregs?

    Hi,
I am in favor of bio alternatives in the place of higher gas prices and emissions control in order to help preserve our planet. I am also a family man and workingman trying to survive in a world and if our country continues on the track it is currently on will not have a pleasant retirement unless I fund this myself (no social security). So I invest in hopefully profitable ventures. I thought I may be onto one with “ebof”, and I still have stock in ebof. But I have concerns with this company. For one, i am not convinced they are on the up-and-up. I have emailed with questions several times with no response. Two they missed a filling deadline, which caused their ticker to change to ebofe. Three, I am skeptical about their ceo who has served on the board or was ceo of several failed ventures. See: http://www.fool.com/investing/high-growth/2007/01/03/earth-biofuels-kiss-of-death.aspx
I am wondering if the celebrities who indorse ebofe or ebofe are aware of these company drawbacks.
Are you Celebes invested in ebof or ebofe?
there are a lot of working people who would love to invest .40 cents per share and it turn to 3.00-5.00 or better, but some of us are staking their livelihoods on it. So please represent a company only if you believe in your heart they are honest. People tend to believe if a celebrity is rep. of a company then it has got to be good. Check more in depth into ebof and let us know.

The Germans have been using biofuels for over ten years. Any diesel engine can burn biodiesel. Buy a used diesel car (such as the TDI beetle or Jetta). Unfortunately, you cannot buy a new diesel passenger vehicle b/c the current administration (EPA) has haulted imports from 2007 onward until the diesel engines meet EPA standards!? Go Biodiesel!

  5. Using diesel really is quite efficient and relatively low on emissions, especially the new release engines that meet the EU standards. We sell parts and engines for vehicles of this size and bigger. If you need any advice please feel free to contact http://www.minardsdiesel.com we export around the world.
