Syngas International (OTCBB: SYNI) announced May 3, 2006 that it has initiated researching the possibilities of using gases produced from its M2 and PyStR processes to make synthetic liquid bio fuels. The first two liquid bio fuels under investigation are ethanol and methanol due to the rapidly increasing demand for fuels in North America. To begin with, the focus will be on catalytic conversion processes such as the Sabatier and Fischer.

VeraSun Energy Corp (VSE) – The second-largest U.S. producer, next to Archer Daniels Midland Co ,producing 230 million gallons of corn-based ethanol a year.

Veridium owns several technologies that bring substantial benefits to the ethanol industry. These technologies increase the efficiency of ethanol production by increasing the amount of fuel produced while reducing operating costs and plant emissions.

Xethanol Corporation (OTCBB: XTHN) emerging biomass-to-ethanol industry. DynaMotive Energy Systems Corporation (DYMTF) DynaMotive’s BioOil is produced using patented technology that converts forest and agricultural wastes such as bark, sawdust and sugar cane bagasse into a liquid fuel. Unlike fossil fuels, BioOil is renewable, clean burning, low in emissions and is greenhouse gas neutral.

Green Energy Corp.’s (GEYC.PK) patented gasification technology converts biomass to a synthetic gas that can be burned to generate electricity, reformed to produce ethanol or used to feed solid oxide fuel cell. Biomass can be defined as material that is derived from living or recently living plant or animal organisms. “Since biomass is available in ever-growing quantities and often creates a disposal problem, it represents a source of energy that offers an economic advantage over fossil fuels that have to be produced and paid for,” said R.A. (Dutch) Hildebrand, chief engineer of Green Energy Corp.
