American Superconductor Awarded $1.3M Contract Extension From Defense Department

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — American Superconductor Corp. (NASDQ: AMSC) , a maker of power units and high-temperature superconductor wire used in electrical devices, said Wednesday it was awarded a $1.3 million contract extension for its second-generation high-temperature superconductor wire with the Defense Department. The contract extension was awarded by the Office of Naval Research, and is being funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
